Summer’s gone, and with it goes the days of Pops concerts and Beach Boys. Autumn is nearly here, and you know what that means: serious music. Come get serious with Transient Canvas presenting their new program WAVES on 9/27.

And while we have your attention, let us direct you to two other exciting concerts by some friends of EQ:

Juventas: Emerge
Friday 9/21 | 8pm
The First Church of Boston Unitarian
66 Marlborough Street, Boston, MA
Juventas celebrates six years of residence at the Boston Conservatory with a program of faculty and alums. Deft renditions of challenging chamber pieces. It will be perfect fun (and probably a little serious).

Joseph Turbessi: Piano Warhorses from Two Centuries
Saturday 9/22 | 8pm
Concert Room, Boston Conservatory
While not modern or local in any sense, this program should be a blast. EQ fans might remember Joe’s delicate and beautiful on our inaugural concert of Pierrot Lunaire, or on his recital last September of the music of Bach and Crumb. Definitely worth checking out!
